The invention discloses a self-adaptive energy recovery method and device for an electric vehicle, and the method comprises the steps: selecting a preset braking deceleration as a target braking deceleration according to the braking depth if a braking signal is received during the running of the vehicle; wherein the driving feelings are the same under different preset braking deceleration although the loads and the road conditions are different; calculating the actual deceleration of the current vehicle as a deceleration feedback value; determining a motor braking torque compensation value according to the target braking deceleration and the deceleration feedback value; determining a motor target brake torque according to the motor brake torque compensation value and the reference motor brake torque; and determining the actual power generation execution brake torque of the motor according to the motor target brake torque. The braking kinetic energy is recycled to the maximum extent under the condition that the driving feeling of a driver is good, and the driving mileage is increased.
