The embodiment of the invention provides a control method and device for a vehicle differential lock. The control method comprises the steps that a vehicle body electronic stability control system detects whether the condition for requesting locking of a differential lock of a vehicle differential mechanism is met or not in real time; when it is detected that the condition for requesting locking of the differential lock is met, the vehicle body electronic stability control system sends a signal for requesting locking of the differential lock and a signal for requesting reduction of the output torque to the whole vehicle controller; and in response to the signal requesting to reduce the output torque, when the locking condition of the differential lock is met, the vehicle control unit controls the differential lock to conduct locking. Therefore, the condition for requesting locking of the differential lock of the vehicle can be automatically monitored, automatic locking of the differential lock is achieved when the condition is met, and manual locking control is not needed.
