The invention discloses a hierarchical optimal controller for predicting power distribution. Methods and systems for hybrid vehicle control. A high-level controller and a low-level controller are provided. The high-level controller calculates optimized tuning parameters for the low-level controller using the preview information and a model of the low-level controller. The low-stage controller calculates an optimized torque distribution for the hybrid engine using the driver input and the current operating state.
