The invention discloses a charging potential evaluation method based on a residential area electric vehicle charging management mode, and the method comprises the steps: S1, building a residential area charging potential evaluation model based on the residential area electric vehicle charging management mode and considering the travel characteristics of residential area users; and S2, according to the community charging potential evaluation model, completing charging potential evaluation based on the residential community electric vehicle charging management mode, and according to the community charging potential evaluation model, the community charging potential under the charging management mode is quantitatively evaluated by considering the community load characteristics and user travel behavior habits, so that the charging number of the electric vehicles capable of being carried by the community can be effectively increased, and the charging efficiency of the electric vehicles is improved. The user charging cost is reduced.
