The method comprises the steps of obtaining lane line information, lane line parameters and a target adjustment coefficient of a current lane where a current vehicle is located; the current transverse positions and the current longitudinal positions of the to-be-screened vehicles are obtained; determining a current left lane line transverse position and a current right lane line transverse position based on the lane line information, the lane line parameters, the target adjustment coefficient and the current longitudinal position; determining a target lane where each to-be-screened vehicle is located based on the current transverse position, the current left lane line transverse position and the current right lane line transverse position; and based on the current longitudinal position, the current transverse position and the target lane where each to-be-screened vehicle is located, determining a target vehicle for adaptive cruise of the current vehicle from the plurality of to-be-screened vehicles. By utilizing the technical scheme provided by the invention, the accuracy and efficiency of screening the target vehicle under different working conditions can be improved.
