The invention discloses bionic underwater navigation equipment and a control method thereof, and relates to the field of underwater monitoring, a control module in the equipment adjusts the advancing speed and course of the equipment by controlling a left pectoral fin module and a right pectoral fin module to flap up and down, and adjusts the pitch angle of the equipment by controlling a tail fin module to flap up and down; further, the equipment reaches a target motion mode so as to run to a target position; the rotatable module can achieve mechanical anti-shake of the bottom shooting module and/or adjust the shooting angle of the bottom shooting module so as to monitor the target object, compared with a fixed shooting mode, the mode in the application is more flexible to control, more adapts to the underwater fluctuation environment and is beneficial to obtaining multi-angle data of the target object, and the flapping propulsion mode is more convenient to use. The coral reef monitoring device simulates natural movement of fishes, has small interference on coral reef ecology, realizes non-invasiveness of monitoring, can adapt to a complex underwater environment, can reliably monitor coral reefs in real time, and is high in maneuverability.
