The invention relates to an aircraft wing and a method of operating an aircraft wing. The aircraft wing has a movable leading edge device mounted toward the leading edge of the wing. The leading edge device is movable between a first configuration, a second configuration, and a third configuration. In the first configuration, the device is fully retracted within the wing profile. In the second configuration, as the wing moves through the airflow, a portion of the surface of the device extends away from the wing profile and into the oncoming airflow on the lower surface of the wing. The second configuration increases the lift generated by the wing. In the third configuration, a portion of the surface of the device extends away from the wing profile and into oncoming airflow on the upper surface of the wing. The third configuration attenuates the lift generated by the wing.
