The balance control method comprises the following steps: S1, acquiring a hoisting arm torque and a balance arm torque of the tower crane; s2, the position of a balance arm balance weight trolley is obtained according to the hoisting arm torque and the balance arm torque, and the position of the balance weight trolley is automatically adjusted according to the working state of the tower crane; s3, when it is judged that the difference between the crane arm torque and the balance arm torque is larger than a high threshold value, a balance arm counterweight frequency converter drives an alternating current motor to move at a high speed; when the difference between the moment of the lifting arm and the moment of the balance arm is greater than a middle threshold value, the balance arm counterweight frequency converter drives the alternating current motor to move at a middle speed; when the difference between the moment of the lifting arm and the moment of the balance arm is larger than a low threshold value and smaller than a middle threshold value, the balance arm counterweight frequency converter drives the alternating current motor to move at a low speed; and when the difference between the moment of the hoisting arm and the moment of the balance arm is smaller than a low threshold value, the tower crane is in a balance state, and all moving devices are kept unchanged. According to the invention, the response speed, the stability and the adjustment accuracy can be greatly improved.
