The invention relates to the technical field of intelligent positioning, in particular to an intelligent positioning system and method for hoisting of a hydropower station generator rotor. According to the hydropower station generator rotor hoisting intelligent positioning system and method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the outer edge of the rotor is provided with at least one group of distance measuring sensors, and the distance measuring sensors can be used for measuring the gap value between the outer edge of the rotor and the inner edge of the stator and the vertical distance between the bottom surface of the rotor and the top surface of the stator; and the obtained data value is subjected to data fusion through the data processor and then is sent to the host, and finally the host obtains a corresponding adjustment strategy. By adopting the intelligent positioning system, the relative position between the rotor and the stator can be adjusted in an intelligent mode, so that the probability of collision between the rotor and the stator is reduced.
