The invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle tire having a tread having at least one shoulder-side profile rib (1) delimited by a circumferential groove (2), which at least one shoulder-side profile rib has a transverse groove (3) terminating in front of the circumferential groove (2), which transverse groove has transverse groove flanks (7, 8) and transverse groove edges (4, 5), wherein an additional groove (10) is connected to the tread-inner end of each transverse groove (3), which additional groove terminates in the shoulder-side profile rib (1) and extends in a top view at an angle ([delta]) of up to +/-35 DEG to the circumferential direction, the tread has a tread inner groove flank (12a), which terminates at a tread inner groove edge (11a), a tread outer groove flank (12b), which terminates at a tread outer groove edge (11b), and a groove base (12c) with an inlet edge (12c ') located at the transverse groove (3). A chamfer (7a) forming an inclined surface is formed on at least one transverse groove flank (7) of each transverse groove (3), said chamfer extending to the transverse groove edge (4) and having a chamfer edge (7a ') on the transverse groove flank (7), wherein at the junction of the additional groove (10) there is provided an outwardly curved angular surface (13) extending between a groove flank (12b) on the outside of its tread and a chamfer (7a) formed on the transverse groove flank (7), on the rib outer surface (1a), the corner face has a radially outer delimiting edge (13a) extending between a groove edge (11b) on the tread outer side of the additional groove (10) and a transverse groove edge (4) to which the chamfer (7a) extends, and at the transverse groove flank (7) on which the chamfer (7a) is formed, a radially inner delimiting edge (13b) extending to a chamfer edge (7a '), wherein the angular surface (13) is curved such that the radially outer delimiting edge (13a) thereof extends in an arc shape in a top view, and such that the radially inner delimiting edge (13b) thereof extends, starting from the chamfered edge (7a '), radially inward in an arc shape, and extends towards an inlet edge (12c') of the groove base (12c) as far as the additional groove (10).
