The invention discloses an impact torque control method of a hybrid electric vehicle, the hybrid electric vehicle comprises an engine, a driving motor and a clutch arranged between the engine and the driving motor, and the control method comprises the following steps: an obtaining step for obtaining the torque of the engine; and a first adjustment step for reducing the torque capacity of the clutch to an impact torque capacity limit value when the torque of the engine exceeds a first torque threshold value, the impact torque capacity limit value being determined based on the strength of components in the torque transmission path of the hybrid electric vehicle. Therefore, even if overlarge impact torque occurs, the impact torque transmitted to the component in the torque transmission path through the clutch can be reduced, so that the impact of the overlarge impact torque on the component can be avoided, and the corresponding component of the hybrid electric vehicle can be prevented from being cracked or broken due to the overlarge impact torque. The invention further relates to an impact torque control device of the hybrid electric vehicle.
