A buoyancy offshore platform is provided that supports a system of renewable energy in a body of water having a surface and a bed. The buoyancy offshore platform includes a base submerged below the surface of a body of water; a top portion retained above the surface of the body of water; one or more mooring cables securing the buoyancy offshore platform to a bed of the body of water; and a tensioning device that applies tension to the one or more mooring lines. The buoyancy offshore platform further includes a floating configuration wherein the buoyancy offshore platform is substantially floating on a surface of the body of water; wherein the buoyancy offshore platform includes a deployed configuration in which the base is submerged below the surface of the body of water and the top remains above the surface of the body of water. In use, the tensioning device is arranged to apply a pulling force to one or more mooring lines secured between the buoyant offshore platform and a bed of a body of water such that the buoyant offshore platform transitions between a floating configuration and a deployed configuration. The described platform is intended to provide a safer and more efficient way to deploy a buoyancy offshore platform into a partially submerged working configuration.
