The method comprises the steps that the elevator is controlled to run at a preset speed to obtain a plurality of leveling positions in the running direction of the elevator; determining floor positions corresponding to the plurality of leveling positions, and determining a magnetic railing ruler height of each floor and a pulse height between adjacent floors based on the floor positions; effective conditions of a leveling signal, an up-and-down limiting signal and an up-and-down forcing signal for triggering the elevator are determined according to the position of the magnetic railing ruler and the height of the magnetic railing ruler, and operation of the elevator is controlled within the corresponding pulse height based on the effective conditions of the leveling signal, the up-and-down limiting signal and the up-and-down forcing signal for triggering the elevator. Height signals of the magnetic railing ruler do not need to be converted into pulse signals of the encoder, and the influence of conversion precision on leveling of the elevator is effectively avoided.
