The invention relates to a method for preparing a positive electrode material for a lithium ion battery. The method comprises the following steps: 1) dispersing graphene oxide, a carbon nanotube, a nitrogen doping agent, a raw material selected from a lithium iron phosphate material and a lithium iron phosphate precursor, and an optional ternary material in water to obtain a mixture A; 2) freeze-drying the mixture A obtained in the step 1) to obtain three-dimensional graphene oxide loaded with the raw material and an optional ternary material; and 3) placing the three-dimensional graphene oxide obtained in the step 2) in an inert gas atmosphere at a sintering temperature in a range of 500-800 DEG C for 5-30 hours to obtain the positive electrode material. The battery comprising the positive electrode material prepared by the method provided by the invention has improved rate capability and cycling stability.
