The invention relates to a method of adapting a driving behavior of an autonomous vehicle (217). In the method, a traffic condition is defined that includes a driving maneuver to be performed by the autonomous vehicle (217). In addition, a model for carrying out a driving maneuver under the traffic condition is trained. The model takes into account and evaluates traffic flow associated with the traffic condition. The execution of the driving maneuver is trained in a manner that optimizes the traffic flow in accordance with its evaluation. In the traffic condition, a driving maneuver is performed by the autonomous vehicle (217) depending on the traffic flow according to the model.
