The invention relates to an autonomous vehicle and a control method thereof. An autonomous vehicle includes a processor that performs autonomous driving control of the vehicle. The processor deactivates the first driving assistance function when the automatic driving function is enabled during the automatic driving control, and activates the driving safety function in a case where the automatic driving function is disabled during the automatic driving control, and restores the first driving assistance function to a state before the automatic driving function is enabled.
