The invention relates to a main engine telegraph for a ship power monitoring system, and the main engine telegraph comprises an installation frame which is vertically arranged; the driving gear assembly comprises a first shaft and a first gear fixed with the first shaft; the potentiometer gear assembly comprises a second shaft and a second gear fixed to the second shaft, teeth of the second gear are meshed with teeth of the first gear, and the potentiometer gear assembly further comprises a potentiometer which is installed on the second shaft and can be driven by the second shaft to rotate; the shell is arranged above the mounting frame and the first gear in a covering manner; the handle is located outside the shell and can rotate relative to the shell, and the handle and the first shaft of the first gear assembly can be synchronously and rotationally connected; the damping assembly is located between the inner wall of the shell and the first gear and comprises a mounting plate, a damping piston and an adjusting screw. According to the main engine telegraph suitable for the ship power monitoring system, the damping can be adjusted.
