The invention discloses a pressing and releasing mechanism and method for stacked satellites. The pressing and releasing mechanism comprises a base. A force bearing support; a locking device; and a release lever set; the release rod group comprises a displacement pull rod, one end of the displacement pull rod is connected with the base through a locking device, and the other end of the displacement pull rod is connected to a bearing support; the displacement pull rod comprises a first station restrained by the locking device and a second station formed by moving away from the locking device after the displacement pull rod is not restrained by the locking device. One end of the pressing pull rod is connected with the force bearing support through a volute spiral spring, and the other end of the pressing pull rod forms a fixing end used for fixing a released satellite body; when the displacement pull rod is located at the first station, the pressing pull rod is restrained by the displacement pull rod to be located at the restraining station. In the constraint station state, the extension direction of the pressing pull rod and the extension direction of the displacement pull rod are crossed; and when the displacement pull rod is located at the second station, the pressing pull rod loses the constraint of the displacement pull rod and unfolds and moves to a release station under the action of the volute spiral spring.
