The invention relates to a method (50) for determining the concentration of a driver (24) in an at least partially autonomous driving vehicle (20), comprising the following steps: sequentially presenting at least one symbol (36) for the driver (24) at different positions on a windshield (28) of the vehicle (20) during an autonomous driving mode of the vehicle (20) or during a manual driving mode of the vehicle (20); providing data of a viewing device (32) for viewing the driver (24); by means of the data of the observation device (32), it is determined whether the driver (24) is following the sequence of the presentation of the symbols (36) with his line of sight, and it is confirmed that the driver (24) is concentrated if it is determined that the driver (24) is following the sequence of the presentation of the symbols (36) with his line of sight. And wherein the driver (24) is not confirmed to be concentrated if it is determined that the driver (24) is not following the order of presentation of symbols (36) with his line of sight.
