An elevator emergency braking mechanism comprises a plug pin seat, a plug pin arranged on the plug pin seat in a sliding mode and a plurality of plug holes formed in a guide rail from top to bottom and used for being matched with the plug pin, the plug pin comprises an inner pin body and an outer pin sleeve which are sleeved together, and the inner pin body and the outer pin sleeve are connected through a spring; the linkage mechanism is used for being connected with the lifting arm and enabling the plug pin to be inserted into the inserting hole and comprises a first connecting rod hinged to the lifting arm, a sliding block hinged to the first connecting rod, a first vertical guide rail used for installing the sliding block and a second connecting rod hinged to the sliding block; the other end of the second connecting rod is hinged to the outer pin sleeve. By means of the safety tongs, it can be ensured that the elevator can still be braked emergently when the safety tongs block loses efficacy in the running process of the elevator.
