The embodiment of the invention provides a mine truck braking energy recovery system and method.The system comprises a main control module and a main DC/DC conversion module which are connected with each other, and the main control module is used for collecting a brake pedal signal, an accelerator pedal signal and a brake resistor input contactor feedback signal from a mine truck control box; when a feedback signal of a brake resistor input contactor is a high level and a brake pedal signal is greater than a first preset voltage, the main control module controls the main DC/DC conversion module to enter a charging mode; and when the accelerator pedal signal is greater than the first preset voltage, the main control module controls the main DC/DC conversion module to enter a discharge mode. According to the application, the electric energy converted from the kinetic energy generated during the braking of the mine truck can be stored, and the electric energy is converted into the kinetic energy required by the acceleration of the mine truck during the acceleration of the mine truck, so that the problems of energy conservation and environmental protection caused by the fact that the kinetic energy is dissipated into the air through the braking resistor during the braking of the mine truck are effectively solved.
