The amplitude confirmation device used for confirming the amplitude of the chain of the escalator is provided with a laser projection unit, and the laser projection unit comprises a reference laser projection part which irradiates reference laser from the horizontal direction to the side face of the chain located at a measurement object part; and at least one confirmation laser light projection unit that irradiates confirmation laser light parallel to the reference laser light. The at least one confirmation laser beam projection unit is disposed at a position where the irradiation interval between the reference laser beam and the confirmation laser beam becomes a set amplitude value. The maintenance personnel presses the measurement target portion with a predetermined force in the pressing direction, and confirms whether the measurement target portion is included in a range between the reference laser beam and the confirmation laser beam.
