The invention relates to a method for the automatic trajectory guidance of a vehicle (100), which has at least two wheels on each vehicle side and a trajectory guidance system (4), by means of which at least one track (10, 11) in a travel trajectory (2, 3) can be detected, the trajectory guidance of the vehicle (100) being influenced on the basis of the detection of the at least one track (10, 11), the trajectory guidance system (4) has a track following mode in which, if at least one track (10, 11) has been identified, the trajectory guidance of the vehicle (100) is influenced by the trajectory guidance system (4) such that the vehicle (100) follows the at least one identified track (10, 11), the at least two wheels at the at least one vehicle side overlap with the at least one sensed track (10, 11). In this way, better driving stability of the vehicle (100) should be achieved, mainly by guiding the wheels of the vehicle (100) through the tracks (10, 11) when the vehicle travels through the curve.
