The invention provides an automatic parking system, a control method of the automatic parking system, and an autonomous vehicle. The automatic parking system includes one or more processors configured to cause a second vehicle to follow a first vehicle in a parking lot, the following driving including automatic valet parking; setting a stop position between the first vehicle and a second vehicle when the second vehicle follows the first vehicle in the parking lot; calculating a deceleration start distance based on the position of the second vehicle, the vehicle speed of the second vehicle, and the stop position, the deceleration start distance being a distance between a position at which the second vehicle starts deceleration in order to stop the second vehicle at the stop position and the stop position; setting a target inter-vehicle distance of the second vehicle in following driving relative to the first vehicle; a distance greater than the sum of a surplus distance, which is a distance from the stop position to the first vehicle, and a deceleration start distance is set as a target inter-vehicle distance.
