The invention discloses a method and system for determining the load weight of a pure electric heavy truck, and relates to the field of new energy automobiles, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining the sampling data of the pure electric heavy truck; the sampling data comprises the voltage of the driving motor, the current of the driving motor, the transmission efficiency of the driving system, the transmission ratio of the gearbox, the gradient, the vehicle speed and the sampling time; determining vehicle parameters; the vehicle parameters comprise a rolling resistance coefficient, an air resistance coefficient and a windward area; calculating the driving power of the power system according to the voltage of the driving motor, the current of the driving motor and the transmission efficiency of the driving system; according to the power system driving power, the transmission ratio of the gearbox, the gradient, the vehicle speed, the sampling time and the vehicle parameters, the whole vehicle weight of the pure electric heavy truck is calculated; and calculating the load weight of the pure electric heavy truck according to the whole truck weight and the truck body mass. The calculation accuracy of the load weight of the pure electric heavy truck can be improved.
