A method for diagnosing a battery pack using a system that obtains detection data including a current and a temperature of a battery pack having a structure in which a plurality of cells are connected in series, and a voltage of each of the cells, the method includes: calculating charge capacity and SOC of each cell using current, temperature, voltage of each cell, SOC function of OCV, and a resistance meter, and calculating unbalance amount and resistance, which are estimated values of SOC of each cell when the battery pack is fully charged; and calculating an energy capacity of the battery pack using the charge capacity, the amount of unbalance, and the resistance. As a result, the energy capacity of the battery pack can be accurately calculated even in an unbalanced state.
