The invention relates to a hydraulic unit (10) for an electronically slip-adjustable external brake system of a motor vehicle. Known hydraulic units (10) comprise a rectangular parallelepiped-shaped housing block (12) which is equipped with means for generating, controlling or regulating the brake pressure. For this purpose, the reservoir (22) has at least one protruding fastening pin (48), which protrudes into an outwardly open recess (46) on the housing block. According to the invention, the transverse bore (52) opens into a flattened section (56) on the motor side (14) of the housing block (22), into which flattened section a pin head (58) of the retaining pin (50) is inserted, and the pin head (58) does not protrude axially beyond the motor side (14) of the housing block (12). The invention simplifies the assembly or disassembly of the reservoir (22) to the housing block (12).
