The present invention relates to a shock absorption structure for a motor vehicle, the shock absorption structure comprising a metal beam and a resin cushion provided on the side of the metal beam that receives an external shock, the resin cushion being provided in a longitudinal center portion including the metal beam, the metal beam includes a portion that receives an external impact within a range in the length direction of the metal beam. According to the present invention, impact energy from the outside is appropriately dispersed and transmitted to a metal beam over a wide range via a resin cushion disposed by a simple method without using a high-level bonding technique, and the amount of impact energy absorbed is greatly increased compared to the case of a single metal beam. The increase in the impact energy absorption amount is efficiently performed so that the weight increment of the impact absorption structure is suppressed to be small.
本发明涉及冲击吸收构造,是机动车的冲击吸收构造,其特征在于,由金属制梁和在金属制梁的承受外部冲击侧设置的树脂制缓冲垫构成,树脂制缓冲垫被设置在包括金属制梁的长度方向中央部,且包括承受外部冲击的部位的金属制梁的长度方向上的范围内。经由不需要使用高等的接合技术而以简易的工法配置的树脂制缓冲垫,将来自外部的冲击能量向金属制梁遍及大范围地适当分散并传递,与金属制梁单体的情况相比冲击能量吸收量被大幅度地增大,并且该冲击能量吸收量的增大是以将冲击吸收构造的重量增量抑制得小的方式高效地进行的。
