The invention provides a rear vehicle tracking method and device based on an expected parking position of a front vehicle, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining the current speed of the front vehicle, a time parameter after the front vehicle triggers emergency braking, an emergency braking parameter of the front vehicle, and an emergency braking parameter of a most unfavorable ramp, and determining a first farthest forward distance after the front vehicle triggers emergency braking; according to the current position of the front vehicle and the first farthest forward distance, the farthest distance between the rear vehicle and the front vehicle is obtained; according to the farthest distance, the ramp additional acceleration between the head of the rear vehicle and the farthest distance is determined; according to the ramp additional acceleration, the nearest distance between the expected parking points of the rear vehicle and the front vehicle is obtained; according to the current speed of the rear vehicle, determining a second farthest forward distance after the rear vehicle triggers emergency braking; and if the second farthest forward distance is larger than the sum of the shortest distance and the safety margin, the rear vehicle triggers emergency braking. The safety envelope that the moving authorization terminal does not cross the front vehicle is obtained based on the emergency braking curve, the tracking capacity is improved, and potential safety hazards are eliminated.
