The present invention relates to a drive unit for an unmanned transport vehicle, comprising: a crown wheel (turning gear) fixed to the bottom of a vehicle body; a mandrel that passes through the center of the crown wheel and extends vertically from the vehicle body; the frame is supported on the mandrel in a manner of rotating in a horizontal plane; the wheel shaft is rotatably and transversely erected on the frame; a drive unit for an unmanned transport vehicle, the drive unit being provided with an axle, and wheels connected to the axle, the drive unit being configured in such a manner that first and second motors, which are drive sources, and first and second planetary gear mechanisms, are disposed on both axial end portions of the axle, respectively; the planetary carriers of the first planetary gear mechanism and the second planetary gear mechanism are respectively connected to the axle, and the ring gears of the first planetary gear mechanism and the second planetary gear mechanism are respectively engaged with the crown gear.
