The invention relates to a containment vessel barrel body construction method and a containment vessel construction method, and the method comprises the following steps: segmenting a barrel body in advance according to the weight of each circle of arc plate of the barrel body and the weight of a corresponding additional object, so that the sum of the weight of each section of the barrel body and the weight of an additional facility is not greater than the rated hoisting of hoisting equipment; the arc plates of all the sections of the barrel are assembled according to the sections of the barrel, and then corresponding additional facilities are installed; according to the construction method, the multiple sections of the barrel are sequentially hoisted from bottom to top through hoisting equipment till hoisting construction of the whole barrel is completed, and by means of the construction method, the hoisting capacity of the hoisting equipment is matched, and the purpose of assembling and installing additional facilities on the containment barrel to the maximum extent is achieved.
