A method of determining a state of charge (SOC) of a battery. The method may employ a transformation technique that linearizes the non-linear model by converging to close measurements, and thereby accurately estimates the state of charge without affecting the computational time and the load on the system. The transformation technology adopts an adaptive unscented Kalman filter (UKF).
