The invention relates to an electric vehicle and a charging control method of the electric vehicle. An inter-terminal voltage acquisition unit (101) acquires an inter-terminal voltage (VB) of a battery. The comparison unit (102) compares the inter-terminal voltage (VB) with the maximum output voltage (VCmax) of the charger (30). When VB < = VCmax, the AC charging relay (40) is switched so as to supply the output power of the charger (30) to the high voltage side of the buck-boost converter (20). At VBgt; in the case of VCmax, the AC charging relay (40) is switched so as to supply the output voltage of the charger (30) to the low-voltage side of the buck-boost converter (20), and the buck-boost converter (20) is operated.
