The invention provides a grinding device for obstacle avoidance of a vertical rod in a climbing frame and a grinding robot, and relates to the field of building construction equipment. The grinding device comprises a base, a grinding mechanism and a rotary driving assembly. The polishing mechanism comprises a mounting frame and a polishing assembly mounted on the mounting frame; the mounting frame is rotatably supported on the base; the rotary driving assembly is constructed to drive the mounting frame to rotate so that the polishing assembly can change between a first position and a second position, and when the rotary driving assembly is located at the first position, the polishing assembly is located on the side of the base and can be used for polishing; and when located at the second position, the polishing assembly is located above the base. The polishing robot comprises a telescopic mechanism and a polishing device, the telescopic mechanism comprises a fixed support and a telescopic driving assembly, the telescopic driving assembly is fixed to the fixed support and is constructed to drive the base to reciprocate in the preset direction relative to the fixed support, and the preset direction is perpendicular to the rotating axis of the mounting frame. Polishing construction can be effectively carried out by avoiding a vertical rod in the climbing frame.
