A pedal simulator valve for a hydraulic brake booster system includes a housing having a pedal simulator passage and a master cylinder passage extending therethrough. The master cylinder passage is longitudinally located between the first housing surface and the pedal simulator passage. An armature is located at least partially within the housing for selective longitudinal reciprocation relative to the housing between a first armature position and a second armature position. The poppet is located within the housing for selective longitudinal reciprocation relative to the armature between a first poppet position and a second poppet position. The poppet valve defines a first valve and a second valve, the poppet valve including a poppet valve bore extending longitudinally therethrough and selectively blocked by the first valve. The damped flow fluid path selectively permits fluid communication from the master cylinder passage to the pedal simulator passage therethrough. The free flow fluid path selectively permits fluid communication through the free flow fluid path from the pedal simulator passage to the master cylinder passage.
