A system includes an autonomous vehicle (AV) and a control device operably coupled with the AV. The control device detects series events within a threshold period of time, wherein a number of series events in the series events is higher than a threshold number. The series of events as a population deviate from a normal mode within a threshold period of time. The normal mode includes events expected to be encountered by the AV. The control device determines whether the series of events correspond to a malicious event, wherein the malicious event indicates an intervention AV. In response to determining that the series of events correspond to malicious events, the series of events to be processed are upgraded.
