The invention relates to a charging system and a charging method of an electric vehicle. The method comprises the following steps: a gateway communicates with a charged electric vehicle through a carrier communication mode based on a power line to obtain a storage battery identifier of the electric vehicle; the background server authorizes the gateway to perform charging control on the electric vehicle based on the storage battery identifier of the electric vehicle and user information bound with the storage battery identifier of the electric vehicle; charging of the electric vehicle is realized based on charging control of the gateway on the electric vehicle; the background server performs charge-related fee settlement based on the charging state information of the electric vehicle detected by the gateway and the user information. According to the invention, non-inductive charging can be realized, and the use convenience is improved.
