In order to navigate an electric vehicle from a starting position to a destination, the system identifies a plurality of charging stations between the starting position and the destination and determines that a navigation route that requires a minimum amount of time for the electric vehicle to travel from the starting position to the destination via one or more charging stations, a non-linear relationship between an amount of time and an amount of charge received by the EV during the amount of time is determined.
