The present invention provides: a rubber composition which has satisfactory low heat generation properties and is excellent in terms of high modulus and fracture resistance; and a tire obtained using the rubber composition. The rubber composition is characterized by including a rubber component including a diene-based rubber, the diene-based rubber including a polymer (A), the polymer (A) being a copolymer including a block portion including a urethane backbone segment and a block portion including a diene backbone segment in one molecule.
