The invention provides a self-balancing inspection robot which comprises a bottom plate, a driving steering mechanism enabling the robot to walk and steer is installed on the bottom plate, the self-balancing inspection robot further comprises a momentum balancing mechanism, and the momentum balancing mechanism comprises a first power mechanism, a first momentum wheel, a second power mechanism and a second momentum wheel which are installed on the bottom plate. The first power mechanism drives the first momentum wheel to rotate, and the second power mechanism drives the second momentum wheel to rotate; when the robot inclines leftwards, the first power mechanism drives the first momentum wheel to rotate and the second power mechanism to brake, and when the robot inclines rightwards, the second power mechanism drives the second momentum wheel to rotate and the first power mechanism to brake.
