Disclosed is a method of overtaking warning. The method may include obtaining, via one of a plurality of vehicle sensors of a first vehicle, sensed information about the environment of the first vehicle; wherein, the environment of the first vehicle includes a passing lane and a current lane where the first vehicle is located; determine if a driver has started to overtake another vehicle to be overtaken, wherein the determination is achieved by a first machine learning process based on at least one of the first vehicle parameters and the sensed information about the environment; determining that the first vehicle enters the passing lane; by a second machine learning process,determining a determined time to collision (TTC) with an oncoming vehicle, wherein the oncoming vehicle is located in the passing lane and is approaching the first vehicle; determining to provide safety parameters for the overtaking based at least on the determined TTC and the allowed TTC; and responding to the safety parameters.
