The invention provides an actuating mechanism for a parking brake system. In the actuating mechanism, a magnet assembly can be mounted on the shaft in a manner of reciprocating along with the shaft along the axial direction of the shaft, and the circumferential limiting piece of the magnet assembly directly realizes an adaptive guide relationship with the guide piece fixed on the shell without passing through the shaft; the magnet assembly is not rotatable relative to the housing in the circumferential direction of the shaft (fixedly positioned relative to each other). Therefore, because the magnet assembly is directly clamped into the shell without the shaft, a size chain is prevented from being too long, and the problem that the relative fixed positioning position of the magnet relative to the shell is inaccurate or the effect is poor due to accumulative errors is solved; furthermore, when the magnet assembly synchronously and axially reciprocates along with the shaft, the magnet assembly can be axially guided by the guiding piece without obstacles through the circumferential limiting piece, and the magnet assembly is properly guided in the process of being installed on the shell and detached from the shell.
