The invention discloses a crane cross anti-collision safety alarm protection system and method. The crane cross anti-collision safety alarm protection system comprises a low crane control host installed in a low crane cab, a high crane control host installed in a high crane cab, and a data processing center used for analyzing and processing data. In the crane cross anti-collision safety alarm protection system, a monitoring system comprises a distance measuring system and a photoelectric encoder, a radar probe measures the distance between a high crane and a low crane, the radar probe transmits a distance signal to the control host of the crane where the radar probe is located through a wireless receiving transmitter, the low crane control host and the high crane control host transmit signals to the data processing center, and the data processing center judges whether the distance exceeds the safety distance or not according to the signals of the photoelectric encoder and the distance signal. Compared with a manual monitoring operation method, the crane cross anti-collision safety alarm protection system and method have the advantages that the production safety can be improved, the production efficiency can be improved, and the operation intensity of a driver can be reduced.
