The invention relates to the field of mechanical cotton topping, in particular to an automatic cotton topping device based on an unmanned aerial vehicle, which comprises an unmanned aerial vehicle system, a topping power system and a topping control system, wherein the unmanned aerial vehicle system is a carrier of the cotton topping device; ;the topping power system is installed on a hanging table below an unmanned aerial vehicle body and provides power for the topping device; and with the help of a height sensor and an optical anti-shake camera,the topping control system can conduct automatic profiling on growing cotton plants, and topping can be conducted on the cotton plants with different heights. Compared with the prior art, on the premise that the cotton plants are not damaged, the automatic cotton topping device can conduct automatic profiling on cotton with different growth heights and cut top centers.
