Systems and methods of determining a likelihood of a vehicle collision include identifying a particular intersection in which a vehicle is approaching and determining an intent of a vehicle driver to pass a particular path for passing the particular intersection. A method includes identifying an occluded portion of an area of interest of a particular path of a vehicle through a particular intersection. Objects traveling within the area of interest will intersect with a particular path of the vehicle, and one or more sensors of the vehicle are blocked from detection at occluded portions of the area of interest. An alert is provided or an action is performed based on the occluded portion of the region of interest.
