The invention discloses an automatic obstacle crossing device of a mining inspection robot. The device comprises a machine body, a magneto-rheological damping wheel, a hub, a magneto-rheological damper, a wheel frame, a pressure sensor, magneto-rheological fluid A, a reset spring, a coil A, a cylinder inner wall, a piston rod and a shell; and a magneto-rheological universal joint is composed of a driving shaft, a coil B, magnetorheological fluid B, a retainer, an inner raceway, a steel ball, an outer raceway and a driven shaft. Wheels with the magneto-rheological damper are installed on the inspection robot, and when the inspection robot encounters obstacles or complex terrains in the working process, the robot can climb over easily to continue working.
