The invention discloses a series constant-voltage charging system and method. The series constant-voltage charging system comprises a constant-current charging module and a constant-voltage charging module; a voltage detection module and a current detection module, wherein the voltage detection module is electrically connected with the constant current charging module, and the current detection module is electrically connected with the constant voltage charging module; and a switching module which is used for connecting the voltage detection module and the current detection module to the battery pack, so that the switching module selects the constant-current charging module to be connected to the battery pack or the constant-voltage charging module to be connected to the battery pack; the voltage detection module and the current detection module are used for controlling each single battery in the battery pack to be connected to or disconnected from the constant-current charging module and the constant-voltage charging module according to the detected voltage or current state of the single battery in the battery pack; and the working voltage value of the constant-voltage charging module is the voltage of the single battery which reaches the constant-voltage point firstly.
