The invention provides a front encoder structure of a traction machine. The front encoder structure enables an encoder to be replaced quickly and conveniently. The front encoder structure comprises a machine base, a stator assembly, a rotor assembly, an encoder body and a traction wheel. A center hole is formed in the center of the machine base, the rotor assembly is installed at the corresponding axial front end of the machine base in a sleeved manner, the stator assembly is installed at the axial rear end of the machine base, a rear end rotor of the rotor assembly and the stator assembly form a motor area, and the periphery of the front end of the rotor assembly is fixedly sleeved with the traction wheel. An encoder cover plate is fixedly installed on the front end face of the rotor assembly, the encoder body is fixedly connected to the position, facing the center hole, of the encoder cover plate, and the encoder body is arranged in the center hole.
