The invention relates to a rubber composition for tread rubber of a truck tire. The rubber composition comprises the following components in parts by weight: 100 parts of rubber, 40-100 parts of carbon black, 4-40 parts of a softening agent, 2-20 parts of a tackifier, 0.04-1.2 parts of a peroxide curing agent and 0.5-2 parts of a sulfur curing agent. Compared with the prior art, the rubber composition disclosed by the invention has the advantages that the wear resistance of a tread rubber formula is improved, and meanwhile, the rubber composition has the balance of low dynamic heat generation, low rolling resistance and wet skid resistance and is used for forming a tire tread for a lorry.
