The invention relates to performance monitoring and evaluation of vehicle ADAS or autonomous driving features. A field monitoring system stores (1101) a range of perception data (4) derived from a perception system (21) suitable for evaluating the surroundings of the vehicle, relating to the ADAS or to the autonomous driving feature (3), for a time period (T) from a first point in time (t<1>) to a second point in time (t<2>). The field monitoring system also determines (1002) ground live intermediate data (6i, 6i', 6i'', 6i''', 6i'''') at an intermediate time point based on post-processing a portion (40) of the range of perception data returned from the second time point to the intermediate time point (t) between the first time point and the second time point. The ground live intermediate data reflects an evaluation of the surroundings of the vehicle at an intermediate point in time that conditions a portion of the perceptual data over a certain range.
